The Champions Tour , known as the Senior PGA Tour until 2002, is open to golfers age 50 and over. While most of the top players on the Champions Tour were successful on the PGA Tour , Sigel, a two-time U.S. Amateur winner, didn’t even turn pro until he was 50.
It was the first event of the 2020–21 World Seniors Tour. The event was the 11th edition of the World Seniors Championship, first held in 1991. Jimmy White was the defending champion, having won the 2019 edition with a 5–3 victory against Darren Morgan in the final.
