The Old Course at St Andrews has hosted the most championships with 29 in total, most recently with the 2015 Open Championship. The championship has been held outside Scotland and England twice, in 1951 and 2019; Royal Portrush Golf Club in Northern Ireland was the venue for both tournaments.

The R&A has decided to cancel The Open in 2020 due to the current Covid-19 pandemic. The Championship will next be played at Royal St George’s in 2021. The 150th Open will be played at St Andrews from 10-17 July 2022.
For a round, it costs about the same as your normal PGA Tour venue open to the public. Depending on the exchange rate, the 2018 green fee to play the Old Course is 180 pounds , which is about $250.
