The player with the lowest total score will win the FedExCup and be credited with an official victory in the TOUR Championship competition. The FedExCup points leader after the first two Playoffs events will begin the TOUR Championship at 10-under par.

The 2020 FedEx Cup Playoffs, the series of three golf tournaments that determined the season champion on the U.S.-based PGA Tour , was played from August 20 to September 7.
From there, the FedEx Cup moves to the BMW Championship, which allows all participants to play through the entire four-round tournament. Only the top 30 players in the FedEx Cup standings can move on to the final event of the season: the Tour Championship.
2019 FEDEXCUP CHAMPION McIlroy finished off a spectacular season with his second FedExCup title. With his triumph at East Lake, he became the second player to win multiple FedExCup titles and recorded his 14th top-10 finish of the year, capping a remarkably consistent season.
The winner of the Tour Championship will pocket a whopping $15 million , while second-place will take home $5 million. In fact, every player who finishes in the top 8 will earn over $1 million in bonus money.
In August, Johnson won the first FedEx Cup playoff event, The Northern Trust, his 16th Tour title and his tour-leading fourth title of the season. This was the first time that he had won more than three Tour titles in the same season.
