If you don’t mind paying high season rates, I think that late May and/or early June is the best time to visit Scotland for golf. The courses and hotels aren’t too busy, the days are long, and the courses are in great shape. If you want to take advantage of shoulder season rates, I recommend April .
The minimum pay for a St. Andrews caddie is 45 pounds plus tip. The tip for a good caddie is at least 20 pounds—65 total. They give 5 pounds back to the Links Trust.
Pebble Beach green fees for a standard round are a whopping $550 per person and will increase to $575 on April 1, 2020. In addition to that initial price, it costs $45 per person to use a cart. If you choose to go the caddie route and walk, which is recommended, the caddie fee will run you another $95 per bag.

If you are visiting Edinburgh a real recommend as a day trip plus the town of St . Andrews with its historical castle and cathedral etc., an added bonus. Great review! You ‘re right, the Old Course is a public course , open to all and there are public footpaths that run alongside the course .
The New course was designed by Old Tom Morris and B Hall Blyth and opened for play in 1895. This makes it one of the oldest “ new ” courses in the world!
Golfers will be allowed to play in fourballs, with no restrictions on the number of households represented in the group and so long as proper distancing protocols are observed, from tomorrow.
