Last month the authority confirmed the golf club would close next Spring after it decided to terminate the licence for the course due to its “financial unviability”. By doing so it ended 100 years of golfing on the iconic Gloucestershire beauty spot.
For the time being, Cleeve Hill B4632 remains closed, but it is set to re- open today after eight days of being closed.

Parking is available at five main locations (see map): At the Golf Club entrance. Turn off the B4632 at the summit of Cleeve Hill , signposted to Cleeve Hill Golf Club. Park in the Quarry Car Park (go over the cattle grid and bear left).
All sheep have now left Cleeve Common . Cattle will remain on the hill throughout the winter and please remember sheep are in neighbouring fields all year round.
